About People of Internet

We are an independent think tank dedicated to research and analysis on global technology policy, digital rights, and internet governance.

Our Mission

The internet has transformed every aspect of human life — commerce, communication, culture, and governance. Yet policy decisions that shape the internet are often made without robust independent research or a clear understanding of their global consequences.

People of Internet exists to fill that gap. We produce rigorous, accessible analysis of technology policy across jurisdictions, with a focus on how regulations affect innovation, speech, and the open internet.

Our Editorial Position

We believe that:

Our analysis is independent. We are not funded by any technology company, government, or advocacy group. Our positions are our own.

What We Cover

We track policy developments across more than 50 jurisdictions, with particular focus on the United States, European Union, India, and Brazil — the four jurisdictions whose regulatory decisions have the most global impact on the internet.

Our core coverage areas include: artificial intelligence regulation, content moderation and intermediary liability, data protection and privacy, competition and digital markets, OTT and platform regulation, cybersecurity policy, law enforcement data access, data centres and digital infrastructure, subsea cable policy, and AI copyright.

We publish analysis continuously. Follow us on X at @PeopleOfNet for updates on every new piece.
